Spend a day at Spades Park, Saturday, August 25, noon - 11pm, at the Feast of Lanterns. The Lord of the Yum Yum rules as emcee while headliner Jennie DeVoe returns to rock the stage. From hip hop to folk, music plays throughout the day. Activities throughout the day include:
old-time games for kids, horse rides, and an arts and crafts show.
Hands-on activities include photography, mural painting, sun prints,
and didgeridoo and lantern making. At dusk kids line up for a lantern
parade under tall oak trees hung with lantern chandeliers as the park
lights up with hundreds of lanterns.
New this year, the Feast Gong Show invites amateur performers to risk
the gong at a chance for cash prizes. Contact 340-2025 or

Admission to the Feast of Lanterns is FREE. The Near East Side
Community Organization (NESCO) presents the Feast of Lanterns with
support from Target Stores, Great Indy Neighborhoods Initiative, and
the John H. Boner Community Center. Proceeds benefit NESCO's community
programming.
